Learning Activities
The Framework follows the 70:20:10 model for adult learners.
70% of learning is through learning activities in the workplace. Such as shadowing someone with more experience.
20% of learning is through relationship-based activities. Such as networking.
10% of learning is through formal or structured learning activities. Such as online modules or training sessions. This gives councillors different options to learn through different activities.
Councillors have access to various learning activities. Councils, the Local Government Association of Tasmania and the Office of Local Government provide activities. Other education providers can also provide activities
Each councillor’s progress is measured through a Councillor Capability Review and Development Plan.
